Wouldn't it actually be preferred to use an 'always hot' to assure lasting Parking Mode? Or does the fact that feature is 'Intelligent' override the need for permanent power? I'm trying to show I'm learning if that's not already apparentĪnd just in case, I take it you've come across this, - or it doesn't apply: Lastly, the selected fuse is a touch confusing. Features, specs and size seem sound, anything spectacular otherwise? The Emergency SOS Response? Bluetooth footage straingt to phone? Famous support? Proven longevity? The cost is not $30, but then again it's not $600 either (another poster's selection). So, even working past that I'm interested what drew you to this brand and particular model. So first I note most every search defaults back to UK sites and sources, and comparing their prices (Amazon) with those stateside the results have us yanks paying 30% MORE - even after factoring in exchange rate. With so many choices available, and as with any other product such wide range of costs, I'm enthused hearing each brand's attraction for a real buyer. completely different topic, but there has to be a way to turn off 'Auto-Stop' from being automatically turned on at every car start - am I just blind and unable to find the setting?ĭash cam posts grab my attention as I'm 'gradually' becoming more inclined to using one. Any pointers or tips are greatly appreciated. I obviously want this looking clean with no wires showing. I park in garages at work and home, so not worried about recording while parked and car off. I only need the dash cam to have power while the car is on by the way. Maybe you guys have a better wire to splice into rather than going to the fuse box? I'm all ears. and have done work like this in the past on past cars but this is my first brand new car and my baby. I'm pretty good with cars/electronics/etc. Any reassurances that someone else has done it and it wasn't too difficult would be nice lol. My question is, has anyone hard-wired a dash cam or radar detector in their XT4? How difficult is it pulling off the left pillar to run the wire down to the fuse box? I'm just super nervous pulling off the left side pillar of a brand new car (I don't want clips breaking and not snapping back in, etc.) I think that hiding the cable along the headliner should be pretty simple, just really nervous about the side pillar - it seems like it is on there very snug. I ended up buying a Nextbase - 322GW dash cam so I could hide it behind the rear view mirror, and a hard-wire kit off Amazon so I can hard-wire it into the fuse box by cabling it under the headliner, over to the drivers-side pillar, down the pillar and in behind the fuse box then splicing it into an a fuse that only gets power when the car is on. Hello everyone, first post here! I bought a brand new 2019 Cadillac XT4 about a week ago and have decided to invest in a dash camera.
